Our Story

Lumen Studios was born from a shared passion for photography and a vision to create a supportive community for creatives in Denver. Founded in 2018 by Sarah Miller, a seasoned photographer and Denver native, Lumen Studios started as a small, single-room rental space in the heart of the RiNo Art District. Sarah recognized the need for accessible, high-quality studio spaces that catered to a diverse range of photographic styles and needs.

From the beginning, the focus was on providing more than just a physical space. Sarah wanted to create an environment where photographers could connect, collaborate, and grow. This vision led to the expansion of Lumen Studios, adding more diverse studio spaces, state-of-the-art equipment, and a team of dedicated professionals committed to supporting every client.

Today, Lumen Studios stands as a testament to the power of community and a relentless pursuit of excellence. We’re proud to be a vital part of Denver’s vibrant creative scene, empowering photographers and creatives to bring their visions to life.

A Timeline of Growth

2018: Lumen Studios is founded by Sarah Miller, offering a single studio space in RiNo.
2019: Expanded to include "The Modern Loft" and "The Victorian Parlor" studios, catering to different aesthetic preferences.
2020: Introduced professional lighting equipment rental services, enhancing the studio experience.
2021: Launched the "Skylight Studio" specializing in natural light photography. Grew the team with experienced technical assistants.
2022: Partnered with local photography workshops and educational programs.
2023: Introduced video production services, broadening our creative capabilities.
2024: Redesigned website to improve user experience and booking process. Expanded post-production services.
2025: Celebrated 7 years of supporting Denver's photography community. Continuously improving services and studio spaces.
